Matthew Donaghy and Mark Sadler visited the Flemish
parliament in Brussels on 22nd February 2001 and met Marc Le Bruyn. He was very
interested to hear about our training set-up and what courses we offered, in exchange for
training and development offered to Flemish staff. This also included a tour of the
Vlaams Parlement. To browse their site click on the link www.vlaamsparlement.be
Matthew Donaghy and David Kenny visited the Finnish parliament on
12th January 2001 and met up with Martti Korhonen (Head of Administration Office),
Anne-Eeva Pekkola (Deputy Head of Information) and Raisa Ketonen (Training
Secretary). The project's website "Working for an MP" was demonstrated and

At the beginning of November 2000, Matthew Donaghy visited Margreta
Brundrin from the Riksdag in Stockholm. The purpose was to explore the kind of
training given to MPs' staff and how their assistants are supported through Information
and Communications Technology learning provisions. The visit showed that the Riksdag
has a well-defined, fully operational training system for MP's staff. Not only do
they take the concept of training for both staff and MPs seriously, but they are also
extremely proud of this system. For further information on the Swedish Parliamentary
website, click on the link www.riksdagen.se
By the middle of October 2000 Andy Clark and Matthew Donaghy began
to disseminate the project to our European neighbours. They visited the Dutch
Parliament in "The Hague" with the aim to
exchange best practice, and highlight any advantages or disadvantages of the ADAPT
programme in reIation to that exercised in The Hague. It also examined whether their
assistants had any access to mentoring structures within wider organisational fields of
Dutch business and industry. To

On 23rd January 2001, Mark Sadler hosted a flying visit from Blair
Armitage, Deputy Principal Clerk of the The Senate of Canada. He was briefed on the
background of the Project, the Training Software, the Mentoring Programme and
Dissemination across European countries. He managed to acquire some specific training
needs that could be incorporated to help staff within the Canadian Parliament. To

On 27th November 2000, we hosted a visit from Vitalyi
