IMPORTANT - FRAUDULENT EMAIL SCAM
Importance:
High
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT A
FRAUDULENT SCAM TO VERIFY BANKING DETAILS IS IN CIRCULATION
PCD is aware that there are a number of
fraudulent emails circulating encouraging bank customers to visit
websites to verify banking details. At present we are aware
that emails have been sent to parliamentary email accounts purporting to
be from Barclays and the Halifax banks. We feel that other high street
names will follow. A notice from the Halifax bank states
"Please note that we would never send emails that ask for
confidential or security information."
We are currently looking at the steps
we can take to stop these from entering your inbox. In the interim
please be aware if you receive an email as detailed below do not respond
and delete it immediately.
