The Information Office is used to dealing with hundreds of enquiries per week  from the public about all  aspects of the workings of Parliament.  Access this on the parliamentary Intranet at: http://mirror.parliament.uk/directories/hcio.cfm

If you don't work within Parliament and are curious about any aspect of the institution (or if you work for an MP and want to point enquirers in the right direction) you will find the Information Office details on the world wide web at: http://www.parliament.uk/directories/hcio.cfm

The page continues with all you need to know about making contact with the Information Office:

Enquiry service

The House of Commons Information Office can answer enquiries on the business, history and membership of the House of Commons. Answers to many of our most frequently asked questions are available on this website.

Please note, the HCIO does not forward e-mail to Members of Parliament. E-mail links, where available, can be found in the Alphabetical List of Members of Parliament.
