Casework support from the Citizens Advice Bureau Last updated: 4 November 2003 Caseworkers: are you making best use of the extensive resources provided by this CAB website? We've plugged this before, but this is something you can't do without. Comprehensive information on dozens of topics you will encounter in dealing with casework is assembled under four main headings: Your Money, Your Family, Your Daily Life, Your Rights. Have a look at the Site Map for the full list: http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/index/site_map.htm Below is the home page of their Advice guide (http://www.adviceguide.org.uk) which provides all the links you'll need. Use it yourself to help and support constituents or recommend it to those constituents wanting to do their own researches. Our advice is to develop a close working relationship with your local CAB. In many cases they will have much more expertise than you with particular issues and will be pleased to help with the detailed work. In return you can use your contacts with Agencies, Government Departments, Local Authorities to help unblock "stuck" constituency casework. To find your
local CAB use this page: http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/cabdir.ihtml
The search can be done by Town or
County or by the first two letters of your Postcode.
There is also a choice of Languages and a selection of Specialist
Services.
