As you know, the Citizens Advice service - the independent advice, policy and campaigning charity - helps people resolve their money, legal and other problems by providing information and advice, and by influencing policymakers.  Their website is at: http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk

If your job is involved with MP's casework you will find their website, at http://www.adviceguide.org.uk, provides all the information you need to help your constituents with information on their rights, including benefits, housing and employment, and on debt, consumer and legal issues.   Developed by Citizens Advice, the website provides information specific to all four UK countries:  England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

As we recommend in our Sources of Information Guide, you have a great deal to gain from establishing a close working relationship with your local Citizens Advice Bureau.

The national organisation used to be known as the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux (NACAB) but in January 2003 this changed to Citizens Advice and in Wales, Cyngor Ar Bopeth Cymru/Citizens Advice Cymru.  Click here for their leaflet explaining the reasons for the change of name.
